UAE provides funds to construct an oil refinery

United Arab Emirates provides funds to construct an oil refinery center in Hambantota.
Two UAE companies invest 1200 million US dollars to this project. Speaking at a press briefing minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa said this is

one of the largest project to be carried out in the country. 
Mean while, the cabinet has granted approval to implement three projects funded by the People's Republic of China.  Under this programme, a

flyover will be constructed at on the Colombo-Ratnapura Road, the Welikada junction on the Kollupitiya-Sri Jayewardenepura Road will be

signallised and the Kiribatgoda- Kadawata section of the Colombo-Kandy Road rehabilitated.
The Government of  China has agreed to provide Sri Lanka, A grant of 10 million US dollars from China will help reduce traffic congestion along

the main arteries to the City of Colombo. The Government has approved to provide an annual allowance of 50,000 rupees and uniforms for cadet

platoons in schools under the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence.
